Let the adventure begin..

Our classroom has been a busy place since the start of September. Here are a few snippets capturing some special moments and happy memories that we've shared together in 1st class. 

Hurling & Football training in the Astro

We learned lots of new ball handling skills in both hurling and football back in September. We enjoyed playing together as a team. It was so much fun! 

Gymnastics in Farran Hall 

We really enjoyed our Gymnastics classes with Phoebe. We explored different forms of movement and balance on the mats and even mastered a controlled landing from a low jump and the forward roll too which was one of the highlights!  

Outdoor Fun - Skipping using elastics

We had lots of fun skipping using elastics! We laughed , cheered and chanted some of our favorite rhymes and tried not to miss a beat! We loved learning new skipping moves and cheering each other on. 

Halloween

We had a spooktacular day celebrating Halloween with our friends at school. We decorated our classroom , sang Halloween songs, recited some poems and got creative with Halloween art to mark this seasonal occasion. We also decorated some spooky pumpkins and added the finishing touches to each one which we put on display for everyone to see in our classroom. We dressed up in our spooky costumes . The best part of course was the Halloween parade out in yard. We proudly showcased our attire to all our friends and teachers . It was the best day! 

Our Christmas Play 

Our Christmas Play, 'A King is Born ' was certainly in full swing at the start of December. We spent a lot of time rehearsing our lines and learning the songs. We loved singing the songs with the Juniors , Seniors and 2nd class. Our teachers and sna's were so proud of us and commended us for such a brilliant performance. 

Buzzing with excitement with Beebots 

We had super fun coding with beebot robots. We worked together in small groups and learned how to programme our beebots to move in different directions to reach its final destination. We can't wait to use the beebots again and look forward to another coding challenge with mazes the next time! 

All things Magnets 

What fun we had investigating magnetism using different shaped magnets. We made predictions, investigated various objects and materials and checked to see if they were attracted to the magnet. We explored and came up with our very own experiments too! We learned that like poles repel and unlike poles attract each other. 

Investigating 2D & 3D shapes 

We had great fun exploring different type shapes . Using our creative imaginations, we built a fort using 3D shapes and worked together to create shape designs using octons too.
